Tune In Tuesday (5)

Tune In Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Ginger at GReads! The purpose is to highlight an old or new song/band that you cannot get enough of in hopes of raising interest in other bloggers. I will try to vary my posts so that you can get a fresh look at what is spinning my wheels at a given time.

Ok, so I have been listening to what I like to call soft rock/alternative. It just makes me feel good. I love listening to something I can just sway to.

This first song I found on Pandora. I swear, that is the best website I have ever encountered in my existence. Anyways, feel free to groove along to this one. I know I do every time.

“Give Me Your Eyes” by Brandon Heath

Another song that I am seriously digging is a little more rock-ish. But, I have liked it for a long time. My brother actually introduced this one to me. He generally prefers much harder music than I do. This was almost “too soft” for him. He’s a little crazy. This songs always reminds me of summer for some reason too.

“Feel Like Fame” by Four Letter Lie

Hope you enjoyed these bad boys!!

This week has been a little crazy; I started my first week of my Sophomore year at SVSU, I had to deal with ignorant co-workers, and I’m still battling a cold.

Luckily, however, the weather has finally granted all of my wishes and cooled down to an undeniably pleasant 70 degrees. I hate sweating, and unfortunately, I am always hott. Temperature-wise too. Ha ha. 🙂

Ok, puns aside, I am in love with the song “Lay it on Me” by Kelly Rowland featuring Big Sean. One of my favorite parts of fall/winter, is that when me and my friends go to the club and shake what our mommas gave us, we don’t die of heat exhaustion. And I can not wait to hear this song at the club! It is such a good one.

Another band that I have stumbled upon through Pandora is FM Static. After hearing them a few times at work, I decided I kind of love them. This song is just one of many that are seriously so dang good. They are catchy and just fun to listen to. I can definitely dance around to this band any day of the week!

For the 90’s edition this week, I am choosing two songs that I will never stop loving. They are fun and upbeat; I can always sing and dance to these regardless of who’s around. Sometimes that’s not always that awesome for the bystanders. But oh well. I am what I am. ENJOY!

This first song is the title of one of my absolute favorite movies of all time! Katelyn and I seriously crack up every time we watch this bad boy. Check out the movie here and the song that started it all below.

“(You Drive Me) Crazy” by Britney Spears (1999).

Ok, this song is a little bit older than the 90’s, but it reminds me of my dad and we always sing this together in the car. He is seriously one of my favorite people in the world. It’s almost scary how alike we think sometimes. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. This video is kind of boring, but the lyrics are there for you to learn the song I suppose.

“Black Water” by The Doobie Brothers (1974).

Feel free to comment!!

For the 90’s edition this week, I am choosing two songs that I seriously sing 24/7. Well, I definitely sing the first one quite often, and I just love the second song.

Faded by SoulDecision (1998)

I know every single word to this song, and blare it no matter where I am. I love boy bands until the end of time, including SoulDecision. This song was on one of the earlier Now! That’s What I Call Music CDs when I was younger. You can buy it here.

Jumping, Jumping by Destiny Child (1999)

This is the PERFECT club/dancing song! I am a huge girl power/girl band fan as well. I love to get all crazy and try to sing/rap this song with Beyonce. 🙂 Buy it here.

Enjoy!!

This week’s song that I’m featuring is “Hold On” by Wilson Phillips. My parents always listened to oldies (or what I consider oldies) when I was growing up. Thankfully, I know some awesome classics, like this one. If you’ve recently seen and loved Bridesmaids, like I have, you will probably enjoy this song. Katelyn and I seriously blare this is our cars whenever we’re together. No one else really gets it, out of our friends. But hopefully, you will start grooving to the music after a few seconds.

Another awesome song that I never get sick of is “Big Poppa” by Notorious B.I.G. However, when looking for this song on YouTube, I found this genius piece of work. If you love old gangster rap and Harry Potter (I know there’s more of us out there somewhere) you will seriously love this remixed version of “Harry Poppa.” Not kidding, this is hilarious and catchy.

This is the coolest discovery I have made in a while.

Life Lesson #4

So, this Tuesday, myself along with 4 other girls are all going down to Pontiac for a concert. I can’t wait!! Of course, one of these friends is Katelyn. We are going to see We the Kings, The Summer Set, The Downtown Fiction, and Hot Chelle Rae. This is going to be one of the best concerts ever! We’ve gone to several other concerts at the Crofoot Ballroom, which is where this Tuesday’s concert will also be held. Therefore…

Life Lesson #4: Listen to We the Kings!

Katelyn and I have seen them at least five times in concert already, and they just keep getting better and better! Their music is what I would consider alternative/ feel-good jams. I have all of their CDs on my iTunes and in my car. There is no other band that I love more than We the Kings. And no, I was not paid in any way for this awesome advertisement. Hmm, maybe I should be though..? I’ll think about that next time before coming up with such a super suggestion as this one!

Please enjoy!! This is my favorite song on their most recent CD!

P.S. Sorry this Life Lesson is so short. I have been working on my first book review, so this is the best I could up with using whatever few brain cells that are still actively firing in my head. 🙂

I only wish Friday Is Forever could be the soundtrack to my life. Mine’s more like You Learn by Alanis Morissette. But whatever, we call all dream right? 🙂
